Beef jerky secret recipes
Beef jerky is a popular snack made from dried, seasoned beef. There are many different recipes for making beef jerky, but here is a simple and popular recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound of lean beef (such as sirloin or flank steak)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
- Trim any visible fat from the beef and slice it against the grain into thin, uniform strips.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Add the beef strips to the bowl and toss to coat them in the marinade.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 175°F (80°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a wire rack.
- Remove the beef strips from the marinade and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Arrange the strips in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet or wire rack.
- Bake the beef jerky in the preheated oven for 4-6 hours, or until it is dried and chewy.
- Allow the beef jerky to cool completely before storing it in an airtight container.
Note: You can also use a dehydrator to make beef jerky. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for dehydrating beef jerky.
